2. Magnesium

Magnesium is one of the most abundant minerals in the human body.  It plays several important roles in the health of your body and brain.  It is also involved in over 300 enzymatic reactions within the body.

One study suggests that around 75% of us are not meeting the recommended intake. Drinking alcohol depletes your body of magnesium.  If you add that to the mix, there’s a good chance you’re going to be deficient and this can have a detrimental effect on the body.

A lot of our customers also report sleeping better when taking magnesium.  We’d recommend taking magnesium before bed and the following morning. Here are some of our top selling Magnesium supplements.

3. Electrolytes

One of the main causes of a bad hangover is the dehydration caused by drinking too much.  Key salts like sodium, potassium, calcium and magnesium are lost during dehydration.  Taking a good quality electrolyte drink helps replace some of these important salts.

We’d recommend taking an electrolyte drink before bed and first thing in the morning.  Most electrolyte drinks don’t have enough magnesium so we’d recommend taking this also. Click here our bestselling electrolytes.

4. B vitamins

B vitamins play an important role in maintaining good health and well-being. B vitamins have a direct impact on your energy levels, brain function, and cell metabolism. B Vitamins can also help prevent infections and helps support cellular health.

As we know drinking alcohol depletes your body of vitamins, salts and nutrients. The most important of which are vitamins B and C. A lot of people swear by taking these vitamins to combat hangovers.

Our bestselling B Vitamins is Solgar B Complex.

5. Vitamin C

Vitamin C is an essential vitamin, meaning it can’t be produced by the body. It has many roles in your body, its a strong antioxidant and has many other health benefits.  Several studies have indicated that Vitamin C can help protect the liver and help your body detoxify alcohol.
